Dear Republicans, grow a freaking spine, for crying out loud and go after Obama.

Obama was in Canada meeting with the Canadian Prime Minister, talking about relations, the future, and whatever else they want to dress it up as.

If Trump were a former president meeting with foreign leaders while a Democrat sat in the White House, they would’ve screamed Logan Act before the meeting was even over.

They would’ve accused him of running a shadow government.

They would’ve accused him of interfering with foreign policy.

They would’ve accused him of undermining the sitting president.

So why does Obama keep getting a free pass?

Republicans need to stop acting weak and start asking what exactly was discussed — and who gave Obama the authority to speak on behalf of America.

Obama is not the president.

Trump is.

President Biden created the CHNV migrant flights mass parole program which allowed 30,000 migrants to fly into the U.S. every month (not on taxpayer dime) for 2 year humanitarian parole grants, totaling over 500,000 migrants. But they never left, and the DHS Inspector General found the Biden admin wasn’t even tracking their parole expiration & certainly wasn’t enforcing it. There was also no vetting of their sponsors and widespread fraud was found in the program, leading the Biden admin to temporarily pause it.

One Haitian man who flew into JFK airport as part of the program was supposed to be with his listed sponsor in New Jersey, but he ended up in a migrant hotel outside of Boston where he was convicted of raping a young girl in the hotel.

This program didn’t exist before Biden, so yes, Biden quite literally allowed more than half a million migrants to circumvent the border and fly into the US outside of the normal visa or legal immigration process, and the large majority of them are still here well past the expiration of their 2 year parole grants.

Congressman, with respect — and I mean the bare minimum of respect required by decorum — I need to point out that your post commits petitio principii. That is Latin for "begging the question." You assumed your conclusion in your premise. You said the 14th Amendment is "clear," then described your preferred interpretation as proof it is clear. That is not an argument. That is a word salad with extra dressing.

Let me offer some clarity, since the wheel appears to be spinning but the hamster fell off.

You came to the United States as a LEGAL immigrant. You established permanent domicile. You went through the proper process. Congratulations — your experience is literally the factual scenario covered by Wong Kim Ark (1898). The executive order does not touch you or people like you. Legal permanent residents' children are SPECIFICALLY protected under EO 14160. So you are arguing passionately against a policy that would not have affected you at all.

That is a special kind of confused.

Now. The 14th Amendment is "clear," you say? Then answer this question. Why do the children of foreign diplomats NOT receive citizenship — even though they are physically born on American soil? Ambassadors' kids breathe American air. They are born in American hospitals. They are subject to American traffic laws. Why no citizenship?

If you cannot answer that without acknowledging that jurisdiction means something MORE than geography, you have already conceded the argument.

The AUTHOR of the citizenship clause, Senator Jacob Howard, said on the floor of the Senate in 1866 — on the record, in the Congressional Globe — that it "will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are FOREIGNERS or ALIENS." Senator Trumbull, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said "subject to the jurisdiction" means "not owing allegiance to anybody else." Every senator who voted for it agreed. ZERO dissent.

You want to tell me Trump is rewriting the Constitution? Trump is READING the Constitution. The people who rewrote it are the ones who decided to silently delete the phrase "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" and pretend it was never there.

Also — one last thing, Congressman. As a Democrat elected to actually represent your constituents in Michigan, what specific legislation have you passed to help them? Not hashtags. Not press releases. Actual bills. Because from where I sit, almost every post on your feed is about what you are against. The people who sent you to Washington deserve to know what you are FOR — besides opposing a constitutional reading that your own immigration story does not even contradict.

But what do I know — I am only a science teacher and retired Army combat medic who apparently reads the Congressional Globe for fun.

The proponents of the 14th Amendment never agreed to this.

The American public never agreed to this.

Nobody gave birthright citizenship to illegal aliens.

And nobody agreed to hand citizenship to 1.5 million Chinese birth tourists who fly to America, deliver a baby, and fly back to Beijing, never to return.

That child holds an American passport.

That child never sets foot here again.

Then eighteen years pass.

They vote. From Beijing. By mail.
