This is the race Republicans cannot afford to shrug off.

Texas has 40 electoral votes.

For decades, it has been one of the most important Republican strongholds in America. The last Democrat to win a U.S. Senate election in Texas was Lloyd Bentsen in 1988.

Now James Talarico and Ken Paxton are locked in a race close enough that Republicans should be sounding every alarm in the building.

Recent polling has shown them neck-and-neck, with Talarico leading in some polls. The Cook Political Report has now moved the Texas Senate race to TOSS-UP.

Think about what that means.

If Democrats prove they can win a statewide Senate race in Texas, the consequences reach far beyond one Senate seat.

It tells them Texas is truly in play.

And if Texas ever starts voting Democratic at the presidential level, the Electoral College map changes dramatically.

California.
New York.
Illinois.
Texas.

Together, those four states currently represent 136 electoral votes.

That would force Republicans to fight an increasingly unforgiving electoral map every four years.

And then there’s the MONEY and institutional power.

Democrats already draw enormous political and cultural support from some of the most powerful centers in America:

• Silicon Valley
• Wall Street
• Hollywood
• Big Tech
• Major foundations, universities and advocacy organizations

Now imagine adding a politically transformed Texas to that equation.

Money.
Institutions.
Electoral votes.
Federal power.

All increasingly pulling in the same direction.

That is how political power becomes self-reinforcing.

🔥Texas is not just another Senate race. It is a firewall.
