My tribute to former Chair of the IPCC and one of the most effective champions of the human response to the climate problem Sir John Houghton in the ABC Science Show (it is about 8 mins) https://t.co/r8bobMny0k
@hannahmmalcolm Hannah - I wrote and delivered an eight minute appreciation of your grandfather and his work on national Australian radio yesterday. He was a very special man. I will send you the link - Nick Rowley
If the minor Royals question whether there is any point to their roles, why should others disagree? Short comments on the ABC RN PM programme https://t.co/Y7LyNgJjB2
Morrison’s office clearly too busy yesterday working on their Twitter and Facebook “presence” rather than communicating with the brave volunteers actually doing the work. Just waiting for the calls for his resignation ... https://t.co/UZ0E3mVylF
Aren’t there more important things for a national leader to do than justify his own approach to communications? At ANY time let alone a day when thousands of Australian lives are under threat ... Woeful.
People are getting to know Morrison as PM ... People don’t want “comfort” (that sounds patronising) ... He should provide explanation. This, he simply cannot do. He sounds weak and shrill and unstatesmanlike.
An interview with myself on Channel 10s “The Project” last evening. Angus Taylor is “wanting” as a Minister, but some good coverage of the potential of seaweed and ocean sequestration
Australia’s been criticised around the world for its weak response to climate change. according to energy minister Angus Taylor, technology is the solution. So is he right?
My opinion piece for ABC online this morning. Dark days in the UK! Will be trying to make sense of the results on the ABC News Channel tomorrow morning (Sydney time) https://t.co/Qz5nZ1os8s
Sunrise - The 'Brexit Election' Underway ... Perhaps not the most insightful, detailed or useful commentary to be found on the UK General election 🤔 https://t.co/XHhn1UGK8L
With thanks to my (fine upstanding) former student Corey ... A fine cartoon! Will Johnson get the numbers? His momentum and a general public and political boredom probably more important factors than either the detail or the consequences ...
Fine piece on the decline of the Tory party “These men are opportunists, for whom nationalist fervour and chaos provide an opening to seize power.” Sadly so ... https://t.co/AAqEyROVqg
An observation:
Two highly intelligent, professional, civil minded women who understand the need for “checks and balances” (Pelosi and Hale) to constrain authoritarianism, are looking to bring two fat, privileged, middle aged, egotistical men to account ...
