The most applied work so far from my group has just been published on @EnvironTecInnov! (https://t.co/mBzJ6qAc7D) We assessed the use of low-cost air sensors in indoor poultry farms🐔Congrats lead author @RowshonAfroz 🎉Thanks sponsors @eggsoeufs@EFA_AB_eggs and @RDARAlberta 🥚
Honored to have presented last month at the Air Quality Management Lecture Series hosted by @iitmadras. I shared what we learned about #IAQ using microsensors. Many thanks to Dr. Shiva Nagendra for the invitation. The video recording is now available! https://t.co/LPlrXgzN0L
The Biomass Burning in Canada (BBCan) fire lab campaign in Edmonton is in full swing! 🔥We will study the emissions of Canadian relevant fuels burned during wildfires over the next 4 weeks!
As of today, I am a tenured, associate professor. The journey to this point was hard yet enjoyable. Thanks to all my family members, friends, group members, collaborators, and colleagues for their support over the past 6 years!
A U of A research group in the Faculty of Science provides recommendations from their study of buildings on North Campus to help the university community be vigilant about air quality.

@RowshonAfroz represented our group and delivered a presentation at #ASIC2024 in Riverside, CA, USA. She talked about monitoring wildfire smoke entering buildings using low cost sensors. Congrats to Rowshon for an awesome talk!
Health Canada estimates that above-background air pollution, including air pollution from human sources in North America, contributes to 15,300 premature deaths in Canada per year.

Excited to share our new paper led by @sshuangwu published on @EnvSciTech. Many flavourings added to e-juices are carbonyls and can react with glycols to form acetals. They show very different indoor partitioning behavior and potential bioaccumulation. https://t.co/IjJ9dUt49U
Check out our paper just published on @ESPI_RSC, led by Xinyang Guo (https://t.co/Fq3MYTH1fJ)! Glycols are commonly used in everyday products, but chemistry during their storage is poorly known. We found that glycols can be autoxidized and form formaldehyde and peroxides. Yikes!
Our paper, led by Max Loebel Roson was just published in @RoySocChem@PCCP! We explored the chemistry of anhydrides present in fire plumes. Anhydrides can be unrecognized atmospheric electrophiles, potentially causing chemical changes in fire smoke. https://t.co/FJ8z8581fS
We don't know enough about indoor air quality in university dorms. Our paper led by @RowshonAfroz just published @EnvSciRSC#ESATMOS investigated #IAQ in student residences using DIY low cost air sensors. Major pollutant sources and challenges identified: https://t.co/SUMtK7X59p
