A man named Shiva was earlier sentenced to LIFE imprisonment for KILLING his wife Kiran.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has now reduced his sentence to 7 years considering it was not a planned murder.

The Husband & Wife were arguing and Kiran allegedly told Shiva
"I can keep 1000 husbands like you"

The court said this remark could amount to sudden and grave provocation.

The court's reasoning was that the remark indirectly suggested the husband had NO VALUE as a person or as a HUSBAND.

The court also noted that the stone was lying NEARBY, and the incident did not appear pre-planned.

This became a key reason for REDUCING the conviction.

Kiran was PREGNANT at the time.
The post-mortem recorded MULTIPLE injuries, and the doctor said death was due to SEVERE injuries to vital organs.

The court said he caused her death, but did NOT find enough intention to keep the higher sentence.

Final order-
From life sentence to 7 years rigorous imprisonment and a ₹1,000 fine for 'causing the death of his wife'
