We had a great time at the Rosemarie Ann Siragusa School Field Day, where students got an up-close look at some of the technology we use to keep our community safe!
In partnership with Westchester Drone Ops, our team conducted a drone demonstration, giving students the chance to see a police drone in action and learn how drones are used to support public safety and emergency response.
Thank you to the students, teachers, and staff for the warm welcome and for making us part of such a fun day. We always enjoy opportunities to connect with our youngest community members, answer their questions, and share a little bit about the work we do each day.

A few of our 2nd Pct Officers were able to participate in the Youth Police Initiative (YPI). We had a great time building our relationships with the community!

Itโs not everyday you come across an individual who at such a young age gives back so much to their community through volunteering on free time. He set the bar so high, we all canโt wait to see what the future holds for him!

Anytime, anywhere. ESU.
Five months. Thousands of training hours. One mission - being ready when the call comes.
Last week, 23 officers from 6 departments graduated from a rigorous Emergency Service Unit (ESU) School hosted by the Yonkers Police Department. This program tested every aspect of the job - Emergency Medical Technician certification, specialized firearms and weapons, SWAT operations, and technical rescue training to name a few- preparing these officers for some of the most dangerous and high-risk situations in public safety.
Weโre proud to welcome 9 newly trained YPD ESU Officers to the road, and we congratulate the other graduates from the Mount Vernon Police Department, New Rochelle Police Department, White Plains Police Department, Tuckahoe Police Department, and Port Chester Police Department.
This isnโt just another school - itโs the foundation for the officers who respond when situations are at their worst.

๐๏ธ Remembering Ian Richard Olson.
After battling lymphoma for 10 long years, Ian finally received the news he had fought his entire childhood to hear โ he was cancer free. He was only 18 years old and had his whole life ahead of him.
Just one week later, on December 21, 2018, Ian was shot in the back of the head during a robbery in Portland. His killer, Jeremiah Hannon, was 15 years old and reportedly admitted he did it simply because he โfelt like it.โ
Ian dreamed of the life so many take for granted โ getting married, having a family, building a future. That future was stolen from him forever.
Now, the person who murdered him is scheduled to walk free before turning 25.
At some point, society has to stop pretending someone is โtoo young to understandโ when they are fully capable of pulling a trigger and taking an innocent life.
Never forget Ian Olson. ๐
A great day at the 4th Precinct Open House! ๐

U.S. Attorney Pirro was in attendance at USMS National Police Week ceremony to honor these brave men and women and to reaffirm our office's commitment to supporting the law enforcement community that protects our nationโs capital.
Retired D/Capt Pat McCormack stopped by the Third precinct to drop off lunch for police week. D/Capt McCormack was the former commanding officer of this command for many years. Now he is the director of security at St Josephโs Medical center. Great to see you and thanks for lunch Cap!
