While today’s terrible display of terror and meanness shakes us, let’s remember: @ossoff, Jewish son of an immigrant & @ReverendWarnock, first Black Senator from Georgia, will join a Catholic POTUS & the first woman, Black + Indian VP in our nation’s capital. God bless America.
A huge shoutout to Dayna Frank of @FirstAvenue who helped lead the national charge to get support for our saving our stages. When this is over we are really going to need to celebrate and this will help us have a places to do that. https://t.co/00kywy9K77
Instead of working to provide COVID-19 relief to struggling Americans, Mitch McConnell and Republicans chose to jam through a Supreme Court nominee—when more than 62 million people have already voted. It’s despicable and they must be held accountable.
Today Judge Coney Barrett would not say whether voter intimidation is illegal.
Just to be clear: voter intimidation IS illegal. It’s explicitly outlawed (in 18 USC 594 to be exact).
If Republicans confirm this nominee, it could mean 23 million Americans lose their health insurance and the elimination of protections for 135 million people with preexisting conditions.
@HayHousePR@hayhouse@reidtracy what is your policy on ending contracts of racist (and a few other isms) , dangerous, toxic whyte authors?! Like Northrope for example?!
Asking for EVERY marginalized person!
#BreonnaTaylor's murderers just got off... Shame on @kyoag & @louisvillemayor who failed Bre.
#JusticeforBre means divesting from the system that savagely took her life. @CouncilmanJames must take action immediately to divest from the LMPD and invest in communities.
Every GOP Senator who refused to give Garland a vote & now agrees to vote for a Trump SCOTUS nominee will forever be remembered as a monumental hypocrite. And McConnell will live in infamy as the man who destroyed the Senate & the Court through his own lust for power.
The fires across the West Coast are just the latest examples of the very real ways our changing climate is changing our communities. Protecting our planet is on the ballot. Vote like your life depends on it—because it does.
It should not be this hard to vote.
Remember that if you're in line before polls close, you have a right to stay in line until you can cast your ballot.
Know the story of the loaves and fishes?
Minneapolis’ Sanford Middle School asked for 85 bags of groceries to feed students. There are at least several thousand. And traffic is stacked in every direction for blocks. (The extra will go to food shelves.)
Minneapolis right now: neighbors from different backgrounds filling Lake St in mass clean up. Hold this image in your head—w/the image of a knee on a neck—to show what we can do and what we urgently need to fix. Don’t let destruction by vandals from elsewhere distract
Saint Paul Mayor @melvincarter3 on protest arrests: “Every single person we arrested last night I’m told was from out of state,” says they’re advocating for the “destruction of our communities.”
