Today at Parliament House I saw firsthand the incredible work of the @RoyalFlyingDoc - a lifeline for our bush communities and a reminder of what practical support looks like.
Thanks to RFDS Federation Chair Tracey Hayes, Federation Chief Executive Emma Buchanan, and RFDS SA/NT Chair Peter de Cure AM and SA/NT Chief Executive Tony Vaughan ASM, for taking the time to walk me through the work of the Flying Doctor and meet their frontline staff.
My own family has relied on this vital service out in the Territory, just like countless families across remote Australia. When you are hundreds of kilometres from the nearest hospital, the Flying Doctor isn’t just a service - it’s hope, help, and often the difference between life and death.
It was powerful to see their stroke-scanner helmet up close and the RFDS aircraft display, the same kind of capability saving lives on stations and in communities every day.
While some talk about closing the gap, the RFDS gets on with the job, delivering quality healthcare where it’s needed most.
I’m proud to stand with those who deliver real outcomes for rural and remote Australians. 🤍✈️

Check out the Patient Transfer Facility which is being built in #TennantCreek. I even got to fly in one of the Royal Flying Doctor Service @RoyalFlyingDoc planes (bucket list moment ✅) and meet the amazing, dedicated staff who make this life-saving service possible.
An absolute privilege to be able to grant Nik his wish of holding the 2016 Premiership Cup, and meeting some of his Bulldogs heroes at Marvel Stadium on Sunday night. Thanks to the @RoyalFlyingDoc and the Memory Lane project.

“Completely nuts” is how Matthew Benns described his and Warren Brown’s latest adventure.
They have just driven an actual 1925 Bean 14 car all the way from London to Melbourne.
All the while raising money for the incredible work the Royal Flying Doctor Service does right across Australia.
This very spot in Melbourne is where Francis Birtles finished his record-breaking journey back in 1927.
I was proud to welcome Warren and Matthew back from their same journey, nearly a century later.
Birtles and The Bean have arrived in Melbourne! After an epic journey from London to Melbourne, Warren Brown & Matthew Benns have completed their drive all in support of @RoyalFlyingDoc
The @AlboMP was among those celebrating this historic moment!
