"All we do in that group is talk shit to one another about Barça and Real!"
This @PlayersTribune piece on @3gerardpique being a top wind-up merchant is well worth a moment of your time.

actually, we wanted Laporta to be upfront about his unwillingness to keep Messi in 2021 instead of using him as an election pawn, only to flip the narrative later and paint himself as the saint looking out for the club's interest and Messi, the liability
He should have also been honest in 2023 from the start, instead of goading him for months before once again switching up
Being direct would've given Messi the time to plan his future and get the respectful farewell he deserved which would've saved us all from this constant melodrama & resentment, yet laporta chose above all, himself and his power
understanding this doesn't make anyone less of a culer
@viscacatalunyav@maikeeeJ Emotions is not criticizing Laporta because he managed to do a better job than Bartomeu. Him being better than Font doesn’t mean we shouldn’t pressure him into making better decisions. He deserves a lot more criticism than he gets.
@osofspades@muhammadbutt He will never reply to this. It’s not that hard to say Laporta is our best option rn while also admitting he has made numerous mistakes and treated our legends like pawns for his own political benefit.
@trashleftback What don’t you understand? Even if Laporta thought Messi has become too old to renew, or sign, why not communicate that to him? Is backstabbing Lionel Messi the best way to end his Barca chapter?
