One of my favorite #nativeplants, Sphaeralcea munroana (Munro’s globemallow). It thrives in dry, hot areas w/ poor-quality soil, & its blooms are beloved by a variety of bees, a few of which are specialists, requiring pollen and nectar only from Sphaeralcea & related genera

This Hydrophyllum capitatum (ballhead waterleaf) is unique bc flower grows below leaves.This may make the flower more difficult for #pollinators to find, but surely pays off by making it much easier for the plant to keep flowers fresh #botanynerd #allmyfriendsareplants #pnwplants
