This week, 12 RRT volunteers were delighted to serve over 220 burger meals to the LOROS team as a small thank you for everything they do.

Fire crews are working hard this afternoon to tackle a blaze at an industrial estate in Sittingbourne, responding swiftly to protect the local area and those nearby.
RRT Gillingham were honoured to serve 70 hot burger meals to crews on the frontline, arriving within 75 minutes of callout.

Emergency crews have been working through the night at a major incident at Tata Steelworks in Port Talbot, involving a significant fire. With 8 fire appliances, 2 foam units, 2 high-reach turntable platforms and an HVP on scene, around 100 responders faced an incredibly demanding and hazardous night's work.
RRT volunteers arrived on site within 90 minutes of callout, serving 125 hot meals through the night to keep crews fuelled as they continued their vital work.
We are grateful to every responder who showed up for such a challenging incident.

What a month it's been! From serving thousands of nurses across the country to mark International Nurses Day, to continuing to show up wherever we're needed most - our volunteers were honoured to give back to those who dedicate themselves to caring for others.

For 27 years, the Children with Cancer Fund has stood alongside families facing one of the hardest journeys imaginable - helping fund care for children with cancer when they need it most.
Last Saturday, 200 runners came together for the Run to Run 2026 to raise vital funds in their honour. Our volunteers were delighted to show up and serve burger meals, making sure every runner felt fuelled and appreciated along the way.

The 10 Tors Challenge sees teams take on a demanding route across Dartmoor, with conditions that can change quickly and support teams working long hours to keep participants safe.
Throughout the event, Plymouth Mountain Rescue Team were on hand across the moor, providing essential support and responding wherever needed.
To help during the challenge, RRT Plymouth provided snack packs, offering practical support for those looking after others in tough conditions.

Many Police officers working in Southend last night had been on duty for long hours, supporting an operation to help keep the public safe. With teams drawn from across Essex Police and British Transport Police, it was a busy and demanding evening.
RRT Chelmsford was on site from 8pm to provide food and refreshments, supporting those on the frontline. In just over two hours, volunteers served 290 slices of pizza, 48 Krispy Kremes, hot and cold drinks.

Emergency services are responding to a large fire at the Daler-Rowney site in Bracknell, with smoke visible for miles as crews work at the scene.
The incident comes during exceptionally high temperatures, with the UK experiencing record-breaking heat for May, placing added pressure on frontline responders.
RRT Reading volunteers are now on site and preparing to begin serving refreshments to fire crews and those supporting the response.

Following a rise in serious road traffic collisions in the region, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service hosted a multi-agency Road Traffic Collision Awareness Event at Newtown Fire Station.
The event brought together emergency services to highlight the realities of road safety, with over 250 members of the public attending.
RRT Newtown volunteers were on site supporting both responders and visitors, serving burger meals alongside cold drinks and fresh coffee to everyone throughout the event.

This week, communities across the UK came together to support those making a difference.
In Preston, emergency services and local partners took part in a resilience training exercise at the Humanitarian Assistance Centre, strengthening their response to major incidents.
In King’s Lynn, Careline celebrated 40 years of telecare support, bringing together local leaders - including the newly appointed Mayor - to recognise its impact.
In Kilmarnock, individuals on recovery journeys completed the “Walk the Loch” challenge, covering 7 or 14 miles and crossing the finish line to receive a medal.
Across each event, volunteers were on hand serving hot drinks, refreshments and meals, offering simple support to those taking part.

Across the UK, construction teams are working long hours to keep projects moving - often in demanding conditions.
Through our Construction Community Connect (C3) campaign, RRT volunteers have been spending time on site this month, offering a small moment of support:
- In Winchester, RRT volunteers served 150 workers at the M3 Junction 9 site with hot drinks and cakes, with United Minds on site providing wellbeing support
- At a Vinci Construction site in Greater Manchester, volunteers served 40 workers taking a well-earned break, alongside Bury Live Well, who were supporting worker wellbeing

Families, frontline services and local charities came together at Trentham Gardens earlier this month for the annual Emergency Services Community Day - a chance to connect, learn and recognise those who serve the community every day.
Hosted in partnership with Dougie Mac, the day gave attendees the opportunity to meet emergency services, the army and charities, while getting involved in hands-on activities.

On Saturday 9th May, hundreds came together for the Colour Up for Kids run, raising vital funds for the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust and the James Hopkins Trust - two charities supporting children and families facing incredibly difficult journeys.
RRT Gloucester was grateful to support the day with meals for participants and volunteers, helping keep everyone going as they ran, walked and showed their support.
