The land claim to Greenland is one of the most unjustified land claims in modern history. There is no excuse for it and nobody is going to want to be allies of the USA if they do not honour treaties and attack and stab allies.
CNN this evening.
It truly breaks my heart that my family feels unsafe because Donald Trump has intensified his threats to take over Greenland. Even more painful was being asked this evening: “Should we leave Greenland before it is too late?”
The threats Trump is currently directing at the people of Greenland are being experienced as psychological warfare.
A year ago, I went to Copenhagen to write about the political crisis Trump had created over Greenland. Danes told me that because the US can already do whatever it wants on the island, they had come to a conclusion: Trump just wants the U.S. to look bigger on a map

Statement from the Premier of Greenland 🇬🇱
6:55pm local time:
“🇬🇱 We have been a close and loyal friend of the United States for generations. We have stood shoulder to shoulder in difficult times. We have taken responsibility for security in the North Atlantic — and not least for North America. That is what true friends do.
Precisely for that reason, the current and repeated rhetoric coming from the United States is entirely unacceptable.
When the President of the United States speaks of “needing Greenland” and links us to Venezuela and military intervention, it is not only wrong. It is disrespectful.
Our country is not an object in great-power rhetoric. We are a people. A country. A democracy. That must be respected — especially by close and loyal friends.
We are part of NATO, and we are fully aware of our country’s strategic location. We also understand that our security depends on good friends and strong alliances. In that context, a respectful and loyal relationship with the United States is very important. That has been the case for decades.
But alliances are built on trust. And trust requires respect.
Threats, pressure, and talk of annexation have no place between friends. That is not how one speaks to a people who have repeatedly demonstrated responsibility, stability, and loyalty.
Enough is enough.
No more pressure.
No more insinuations.
No more fantasies of annexation.
We are open to dialogue. We are open to conversations. But they must take place through the proper channels and in full respect of international law. And the proper channels are not random and disrespectful posts on social media.
Greenland is our home and our territory.
And it will remain so. 🇬🇱”
Following numerous messages sent directly to me from citizens in nearly all towns across Greenland, I have decided to initiate a demonstration against Donald Trump’s threats toward Greenland.
The time and date will be announced in the coming days.
This will be a peaceful and united demonstration, with participation from all towns in Greenland 🇬🇱

Woman Life Freedom 2025

This is actually pathetically sad
In order to justify the annexation of Greenland, JD Vance now says Denmark is "not a good ally", even though you couldn't possibly find a most committed U.S. vassal state in the entire EU.
Look:
- they're a founding member of NATO
- they've participated in nearly every major U.S.-led military operation whenever the U.S. asked, even the most controversial ones like Iraq
- Denmark was revealed to be the base for the NSA's spying on European leaders (https://t.co/Tm7ZLyvhMq).
- Denmark always buys American military equipment over European alternatives
- They've agreed to host a major U.S. military base - in Greenland! (Thule Air Base)
What more could the U.S. possibly want to consider Denmark a "good ally"?
Apparently the answer is "let us annex 98% of your territory"...
Fantastic demonstration that nations that willingly become vassals aren't rewarded with gratitude or security—they merely signal weakness that invites further aggression.
