A black bear chases a raccoon before sunrise June 1 in Colorado Springs. Black bears are omnivores - they love forbes, berries, and nuts. But, they'll also take an easy meal like a small animal. Stay with your pets when they are outside.

Unsecured garbage is a major attractant to wildlife, increasing the chance of negative wildlife encounters. Where trash service is available, place waste securely in trashcans or dumpsters. If trash cans are not available or are full, pack out all trash and food waste with you!
It’s Cave Week! This is celebrated annually to showcase the beauty of caves. CO has many caves & most formed by the dissolution of carbonates by carbonic acid in water (karst topography). Glenwood Caverns & Cave of the Winds are 2 popular caves, though unmapped caves do exist.

Found some wood duck eggs in a hazardous tree we were removing. Wood ducks are protected under the migratory bird treaty act which dates back to 1918. Fortunately, our customer is super cool and had no problems with leaving this nest intact and finishing the removal in the fall.
