Threat actor, who I dubbed Retard Bear because of a Proton email handle tied to the campaign, has been taking over reporter accounts on X and using them to DM other users with fake meeting invites.

The attack is simple but high-impact: the victim lands on a cloned Calendly-style page, clicks “Login with X,” and is pushed into authorizing a malicious OAuth app with broad access to their account, including posting and direct messages.

I believe this could be stopped by X by disabling or suspending the OAuth app: СаlеndIy Bookings.

For victims, the immediate fix is to go to X settings and revoke the app under connected apps, then rotate password, enable/passkey-reset 2FA, and review sent
DMs/posts.

The critical part is revoking the OAuth app, because a password reset alone may not kill the app token.
