The discussions focused on strengthening Kenya’s potato sector through key areas of partnership, including the expansion of high-quality seed 🌱 potato production under the Global Biotech Potato Partnership, the evaluation of potential sites for a Simplot apical cutting lab, and the introduction and testing of processing potato 🥔 varieties for chips, crisps, and other value-added products.
Additionally, plans for variety testing trials were outlined to identify the most suitable varieties for Kenya’s local conditions and market needs. This engagement represents a significant step in advancing crop improvement, innovation, and sustainability within Kenya’s potato value chain.
In the heart of southwestern Nigeria, #cassava farming remains a cornerstone of #agriculture, supporting livelihoods and ensuring food security.
