Amazing how someone can turn a 15 second clip into a character evaluation.
I played for Coach Glasco both collegiately and professionally. I’d run through a wall for him all over again.
He cared about us.
He showed up for us as people.
Sure he taught me how to be a great hitter, but coaching is more than skills & strategy. It carries life lessons.
This is a man who was patient with me while recovering from an injury that kept me off the field. It wasn’t my best decision, but he understood.
This is a man who made sure I had somewhere to go for Thanksgiving while I recovered from knee surgery & couldn’t be with my family.
He coaches hard. Holds you accountable. But that’s what all great coaches do.
You can debate strategy all you want.
But questioning his character, our how much he cares about his athletes is a battle you will lose with anyone who’s actually played for him.
@LJTexasLonghorn@zach_barnett It’s bizarre, I know- but it’s the times we’re living in. Idk why Texas is being such babies about it either but it is what it is! Series was never supposed to end in the first place, CDC just doesn’t honor his word apparently- not surprising though after how he snaked Beard.
@MikeMikewelch3@TheRealCruzOx No it takes more than a checkbook. Takes great coaching AND a checkbook. We’ve had guys from Auburn, aTm, LSU all get caught/admit to getting paid/getting their family taken care of while in school- so why would anyone think Alabama was the one school not doing it?
@sully7777 Texas Tech is an elite sample of the system working perfectly. An “outsider” is disrupting the natural order of blue bloods winning and no one else having a chance. That’s exactly what NIL is meant to do- give historically average programs the same chance as anyone else.
@AzimRakes@alphachase01@gkketch In 2023, sure. Probably 2024 too. Last year’s Florida team couldn’t score more than 6 against that defense. And that’s only because we’d go for it on 4th down multiple times inside FG range already.
In the NIL Era Texas Tech has lost:
Hudson White (Big 12 FOTY)
Mason Molina (2nd Team All Big 12)
Gage Harrelson (Big 12 All Freshman team)
Gavin Kash (2nd team All Big 12)
TJ Pompey (Freshman All-American)
Travis Sanders (at Baylor All Big 12 HM)
Linkin Garcia (Freshman All-American)
Back to Back sub .500 seasons.
Havn’t finished over .500 in conference since 2021
“Fire Tadlock” isn’t fixing this issue
Seen a TON of misinformation regarding transfers for Texas and Texas Tech softball. The numbers floating around are incorrect for both teams. So this should help provide some accurate information and also some context to the discussion.
Texas Tech has eight new transfers on the roster in 2026. They have 15 total transfers.
Texas has four new transfers on the roster in 2026. They have five total transfers.
Texas Tech's eight new transfers this season:
Jackie Lis (Southern Illinois)
Mia Williams (Florida)
Lagi Quiroga (Cal)
Taylor Pannell (Tennessee)
Desi Spearman (New Mexico State)
Jazzy Burns (Ohio State)
Kaitlyn Terry (UCLA)
Nikolette Schmidt (Houston)
Texas' four new transfers this season:
Kaiah Altmeyer (Arizona)
Taylor Anderson (Oklahoma State)
Brenlee Gonzales (Texas Tech)
Sophia Bordi (Oklahoma)
Texas Tech's prior transfers:
Alana Johnson (Washington)
Nija Canady (Stanford)
Mihyia Davis (Louisiana)
Chloe Riasetto (Louisiana)
Vic Valdez (Louisiana)
Lauren Allred (Louisiana)
Makayla Garcia (UT-Tyler)
Texas' prior transfers:
Kaydee Bennett (Abilene Christian)
One other note of context: Gerry Glasco took over at Texas Tech prior to the 2025 season. Davis, Riassetto, Allred, and Valdez came with him from Louisiana (along with the now graduated Alexa Langeliers) to help build this new program that had only three returners from the 2024 team: Reagan Jennings, Logan Halleman, and Demi Elder.
They had three players left from the prior era. The portal (and their eight-player recruiting class for 2025) was necessary to mold a roster out of thin air.
So anyway, stop sharing that bogus graphic... and also stop acting like any team that is utilizing the transfer portal or NIL (Texas, Texas Tech or anyone else) is doing anything wrong.
@405pokefan I’m with you on not rooting for conference rivals. I’m that way with Tech. Makes perfect sense. But invalidating an achievement because they did it a different way than your team did it is silly.
@JustASportGuy@0rsak Exactly! As long as your players know that you’ll go into battle for them in any and all situations then you’re all good. It’s practically a parent child relationship. They have to know you have their back no matter what- but you also demand excellence- standard is the standard
@JustASportGuy@0rsak That’s actually one of my favorite coaching clips and I hate UT. But the way he explains how much this shit has to mean to these athletes… it’s everything sports is supposed to be IMO.
