Great to see this scientific breakthrough, which identifies the elusive #HIV reservoir in immune cells. This could be a first step towards developing a lasting functional cure for HIV. We welcome scientists' committment to end AIDS in our lifetime.

Today, I visited UNICEF’s global supply hub at the heart of our network delivering life-saving supplies to the world’s most vulnerable children.
@UNICEF teams around the world are doing everything they can while global funding cuts threaten to create a child emergency.
"If the US assistance for #HIV is not restored after the pause in April, and it is not replaced by other funding, there will be an additional 6.3 million AIDS-related deaths in the next four years."
- @UNAIDS Executive Director @Winnie_Byanyima
For decades, UNICEF and its partners have saved lives. Since 2000, child mortality has dropped by 50 per cent. Millions of children are alive today because of this work. Now, this progress is at risk. We cannot let this be the moment we turn away.
When education becomes a distant dream, who will open the door to learning for every child? When access to healthcare is denied, who will fight for every child’s right to a healthy life? I am. We are. #ForEveryChild. Together, we can protect every child, restore hope, and build a future where all children thrive.
Join us in turning despair into determination. https://t.co/jROeCSOW35

A society grows great when old people plant trees, the shade of which they know they will never sit in. Good people do things for other people. That's it. The end.
All children and adolescents living with HIV have a right to access treatment and support.
By placing rights, dignity, care and empowerment at the center of the HIV response, the world can forge a path to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. #WorldAIDSDay2024
Islam was only 11 when he died of leukaemia this month, just days after his mother shared his story.
Six requests for his medical evacuation from Gaza were denied.
Children are being deprived of medical care, which is a basic human right.
