Chairperson BISP Senator Rubina Khalid chaired a meeting with the Benazir Hunarmand Programme (BHP) team at BISP Headquarters to review province-wise enrollment targets and progress in skill training for willing individuals from BISP beneficiary families. DG NSER Dr. Asim Ijaz briefed the Chairperson on the programme's progress, while Regional Directors General and outreach consultants shared updates on their assigned targets. Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized encouraging willing participants, particularly from remote areas, to join six-month live-in skill training with the proper consent of their guardians. She reiterated the target of ensuring 50% female participation, with training in demand-driven skills and internationally recognized certifications to enhance employment opportunities, promote self-reliance and support sustainable poverty graduation.

Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme, Senator Rubina Khalid, chaired a meeting at BISP Headquarters today to review the implementation plan for the Interoperability Facility for BISP beneficiaries in the upcoming tranche. Director General CT, Muhammad Idress Mian, briefed the Chairperson on the implementation plan and operational arrangements for the rollout of the facility.
Senator Rubina Khalid directed all concerned officials to remain vigilant and ensure effective implementation at the field level. She emphasized the importance of beneficiary mobilization and awareness through BISP’s official social media platforms, along with the deployment of staff in the field during the tranche to facilitate beneficiaries and address any issues promptly.
The Chairperson emphasized that the initiative is being implemented, requiring focused efforts and effective coordination to ensure its successful rollout and build beneficiaries’ confidence in adopting the new system.
Under the Interoperability Facility, women beneficiaries will be able to receive their payments anywhere across the country, at any time, from authorized retailer of any partner bank, providing greater convenience and flexibility in accessing their payments. Additional Secretary Dr. Asmat Nawaz and all Directors General of BISP attended the meeting.

Chairperson BISP Senator Rubina Khalid chairs progress review meeting on Benazir SIM distribution and Non-BVS BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid chaired a progress review meeting at BISP Headquarters today to assess the distribution of free Benazir SIMs and the status of Non-BVS beneficiaries. The meeting reviewed province-wise and region-wise progress, details of beneficiaries who have not yet received their free Benazir SIMs, availability of SIMs, partner bank retailers and the status of Non-BVS beneficiaries. Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid directed all DGs to regularly visit field offices, deploy staff in areas with remaining beneficiaries and intensify awareness through BISP’s social media platforms to facilitate timely SIM distribution and address operational gaps. Various administrative and operational matters were also discussed. Additional Secretary Dr. Asmat Nawaz, all DGs and Regional DGs attended the meeting.

Through the Benazir Nashonuma Programme, BISP is supporting pregnant and lactating women and children under two through conditional cash transfers, nutritious food, health and nutrition counselling, growth monitoring and immunization, with a focus on the critical first 1,000 days of life.

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) signed MoUs with the National Information Technology Board (NITB) and Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) at BISP Headquarters, Islamabad.
The MoU with NITB under the Digital Economy Enhancement Project (DEEP) will support the digitalization of citizen-centric services, platform integration, and improved accessibility for BISP beneficiaries across Pakistan. The partnership with PRCS will strengthen anticipatory targeting, disaster preparedness, and shock-responsive social protection, using BISP’s geo-tagged data to support timely outreach to vulnerable communities during disasters.
BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized greater data sharing and coordination among provinces and government departments to create synergy, improve service delivery and achieve better results. She said BISP and its partners would continue working together to explore further areas of collaboration.
The MoUs were signed by Director General NSER/CCT Dr. Asim Ijaz with Mr. Faisal Mumtaz, Project Director DEEP, NITB, and Mr. Muhammad Abaid Ullah Khan, Pakistan Red Crescent Society, respectively.
