I see so many tweets about disheartened individuals when it comes to essays/grades. Not one person will ask you what you got in an assignment when you qualify, I’m shit and scrape passes BUT I know I’m going to make a kiss ass nurse ✌🏼, trust the process 🙏🏻

I did 3 months of A levels before I decided it was FAR too hard for my pea brain. Dropped out and eventually did a diploma, which got me to uni.

@StNurseProject @RCNNRN Yes to some extent..however I don’t feel the transition to nursing has been as supported as it should be due to lack of staffing and pressures in certain units.
So yesterday I found out that a trained ACP (with 20 years experience behind him) earns just £500 more than me a month (a newly qualified nurse) This is not ok!! What is going on.

Thankfully, I have picked a brilliant team who have made me feel super welcome and supported despite these pressures and challenges, it is so important to put ourselves first during this scary transition period 💜
However, now it is actively affecting me and my work. Staffing levels are dangerous.
Safe nursing is compromised due to lack of staff.
Supernumerary status’ are not held, expectations are too high and burn out is real.
Made it through my first month of being a RN and let me tell you, it is WILD.
Although I have felt overwhelmed and out of my depth at times, my confidence and knowledge is growing significantly.
Acute medicine is a whole different style of nursing and I’m here for it.
