Susan Seager posted on Bluesky, asking us to ban the term "hallucinate" for AI. She said in part, “The term “hallucinate” is an inaccurate, industry-friendly term that should be banned when reporting news about AI fabrications.”
Our generative AI guidance says AI sometimes generates inaccurate or fabricated responses to queries, an effect AI scientists call hallucination. If using the term hallucination, describe it as an issue associated with the technology that produces falsehoods or inaccurate or illogical information. Some in the field prefer the term confabulation or simpler terms to describe the inaccuracies that don't draw comparisons with human mental illness.

Some sick bastards in the UK painted a defenseless hedgehog blue like it was some kind of joke.

They grabbed little Honey, sprayed her down with oil-based paint, glued her spines together so she couldn’t curl up or move right, and left her choking on the fumes. Found her in a Yeadon garden. Prickly Pigs Hedgehog Rescue took her in, scraped that crap off spine by spine, fought like hell to save her.

She died anyway.

Four punks got arrested. A 44-year-old, a 21-year-old, and two kids aged 17 and 15. Bailed for now, but they better feel the full weight of the law.
This ain’t “boys being boys.” This is straight-up evil.

Torturing a vulnerable animal for fun while hedgehogs are already getting wiped out by human garbage. Shows how broken some people are. No excuse, no mercy.

Hats off to Diane Cook and the Prickly Pigs team for stepping up when cowards did this. Real heroes doing 24/7 work from home to protect what matters.
