You can do @container style(--foo: bar), but not @container style(--foo: var(--bar))

@bramus @TerribleMia @tabatkins @jon_neal That works, but it would be a lot cleaner to be able to just rely on the color-scheme property instead. If shadowing properties into custom properties like that is acceptable to authors, it means shipping style() queries with only custom properties support is useful.
