He was abducted by the CCP, sent to a re-education camp for 5 years, stripped of his wealth, and forced to cede most of his assets to the state for criticizing government regulation.
This is absolutely insane:
Microsoft, $MSFT, and Meta, $META, have added a combined $550 BILLION in market cap since 4 PM ET yesterday.
That's ~$140 billion more than the entire market cap of Costco and ~$50 billion more than Netflix is worth.
We are so early in the AI revolution.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Michigan today announced federal charges against Yunqing Jian, 33, and Zunyong Liu, 34, a couple from China who are accused of smuggling a fungus described as a “dangerous biological pathogen” into the United States. Mr. Liu has been charged with conspiracy, smuggling goods, false statements, and visa fraud after it is alleged he smuggled a fungus called Fusarium Graminearum through Detroit Metropolitan Airport, so that he and his girlfriend, Ms. Jian could further study it in a laboratory at the University of Michigan. Fusarium Graminearum, described in scientific journals as a “potential agroterrorism weapon”, can cause a disease in wheat, barley, maize and rice that can wipe out crops and lead to vomiting and liver damage if consumed, with it responsible for “billions of dollars in economic losses worldwide each year.” The complaint further alleges that Mr. Liu and Ms. Jian received funding from the Chinese government for their research into the fungus while in China, with Ms. Jian herself said to be a loyal member of the Chinese Communist Party.
