2nd graders played Spinning for Money! The conversations they had about the names of the coins, their worth, and how they could exchange them for different ones as they worked to collect one dollar were amazing to hear!

I may have found the oldest art work at Russell. A mural painted around 30 years ago by a grade level teacher and her students to brighten up the view from their classroom windows. #inspirecreativity@cpsfinearts@RUSBLVD
First grade fun!
Students practiced making words and changing part to make a new word, independent reading, and even went on a walk through the school to learn how to read maps!

2nd graders started a new book today! It is part of a series and they were so excited to see what happened to the characters next! Their predictions and inferences blew me away! I want to read it now!

3rd grade planned for an opinion piece. Would you rather wrestle a black bear or an alligator?! Neither sounds great to us! 😜
