If you are a really good drug counselor or mental health worker people will let their guard down and tell you how it is our here FrFr. That's how how you know you graduated to a new level. New day, new tools. ๐๐ฝ
When you get to the pharmacy and then say yes sir "the diazepam is available and the miralax isn't covered by Medicaid." Ok but my actual drugs are ready? Cool I'll buy my own miralax bitch! U just gotta call them 2 times on the bus to the pharmacy to make them work faster. ๐
But I reacted that way because I know how a Vicodin feels for the first time if you are wired for addiction. Luckily he actually doesn't appear to be enjoying it too much. And if he has leftovers then maybe he can buy the drinks this weekend.
I was apparently "lecturing" my homeboy too much about taking pain meds for a fresh injury. Everyone flipped out. Talking bout "hypocrite, you take more narcotics in a month than we have collectively seen in our lives " TBH they right. I do love my doctors appointments! โ๐ฝ๐
2/2 even step out and ask me a few questions if I was barred out on xans on the corner. When it was black people y'all wanted to lock them up just for having a little bit of non prescription drugs in their pockets.
1/2 I got treated a lot better during the Opioid crisis than black people did during the crack epidemic in the 90s. In my estimation it was 60% my skin color and 30% advancement in addiction research. But this shouldn't be sitting well with anyone that the police won't
@thomasjwwalters Nice. 10 years ago you were still learning and now you got the game on lock. You actually do really good with empathy as well brother!

And. I used to eat 50 capsules a day, pop 2 Valium, drink some lean, smoke like 10 blunts and take a hit off the Henny at bedtime. Kratom ain't kill you, u just can't hang mf! But yes I like subs better because I don't have to constantly resose.
@RochesterRants I like my weed but we kinda messed up on how we legalized it. For 2 years the trap felt like they had immunity until the legal dispensaries started to open. There is still a few weed dealers on Thurston Rd but it doesn't look like they are making very much money now.
@thomasjwwalters I'm not sure why scurvy is even a thing in 2026. I've maybe seen it once in outreach.People go get their lil drug fix at the pharmacy and can't grab a bottle of vitamin c on the way out? Or at least find an outreach worker to hand them an orange? We aren't on ships in the 1600s!

I would never do this. Not even physical safety, just all the bacteria and germs mass homeless encampments have. Also safety because it's just addiction, some of them see and hear things. Largely untreated mental health. I'd go for an hour during the day.
TBH I really don't spend a lot of time thinking about any of them in 2026. As long as they aren't influencing my doctors prescribing behavior one way or the other.
3/3 You simply can't live in an environment this crazy without either being afraid of your own shadow or becoming desensitized and retreating into your own self. I think the second option applies to my current daily psychology. I stopped watching the news because of it.
1/3 Rochester has good food but we also have disgustingly high levels of concentrated poverty and crime. You can't even go downtown for 4th of July fireworks anymore without someone getting shot. I didn't even realize how fully traumatized I am from living in Rochester until we
2/3 went to Buffalo this past weekend. I was finally able to begin to come to terms with it this past weekend when I was 60 miles removed from it, with people I trust. I felt my stomach sink as soon as we got within 20 miles of Rochester on the thruway coming home.
