Today I taught my 5 year old that ‘you get what you get & you don’t get upset’ is a form of systemic oppression, and she has every right to protest. ✊🏼
@bigyahu She could focus on making sales to hospitals w/ prototype she has. Close a few partnerships for a pilot while working to fundraise, customer acquisition will support w/ expediting product dev. There’s also Upwork for startups, she doesn’t have to hire an expensive team right away
Bill 21 is racist. It’s always been racist. Making Hijabi women apologize for criticizing and calling out a piece of legislation that literally infringes on our freedom to dress and express ourselves ad we see fit is…racist.
I’m still grappling with what’s happening with the new appointment of Special Representative on Combatting Islamophobia @AmiraElghawaby - What kind of national gaslighting is happening when a hijabi woman can’t speak out against Quebec’s Bill 21?
“If Islamophobia can’t be frankly confronted in Quebec, of all places, there’s no point in having a national representative on the issue.” https://t.co/QVwfN0MmXD

You don’t need to understand why people mistreat you. You don’t need to unpack their motives. You don’t need to centre their narrative. You just need to know that their behaviour is unacceptable and separate yourself from such harm. Centre your safety.
My love language is forcing everyone to become obsessed with my current obsession so they suffer with me. I am the opposite of a gatekeeper. I am a gateway.
