Such sad news. Having worked at Mason Owen since I was 16 I have been privileged to know Barry my whole working life. He was such a lovely man who made time for everyone. A true legend. The office is just not the same without him.
Condolences to Susanne and family x
A massive thanks to @LFCFoundation for bringing their Ability Counts teams to play some games v our adults sqauds today.
Some great football played and it was great to see you all
Thanks to everyone who worked so hard in the community room too to ensure everyone was looked after
A big thanks to our friends from @amputeefootball for the game at Partington today. Some brilliant football from both teams which ended in a 1-1 draw after 2 late goals.
Good luck to all their players and staff for their upcoming Euros starting in a couple of weeks ⚽️
We round off #cerebralpalsyawarenessmonth
with a lovely message from Henry
💚🙂
Happy Easter, have a nice break and we look forward to seeing you all soon.
New season #shoutout for my Team Retford United under 9 stripes. My son had numerous try outs at multiple different teams, never made the cut, he has been called fat and slow. We very nearly quit but decided I would approach Retford United to see if I could set up a team.
I had a 2 week deadline to get a team registered, arguably I had bitten off more than I could chew especially whilst battling breast cancer, but I did it! Secured 2 sponsors and here we are. In true grass roots form a team for kids that just want to play and better themselves in skills, no try outs just a desire to play, we’re a fully inclusive team somewhere for children with disabilities to enjoy the game and be part of a team.
We’re yet to win a game but I love my mini badgers spirit with all my heart ❤️🦡

“Cerebral palsy affects the whole of my right side and my mobility. I do my exercises every night to strengthen my right side and I never give up and just try my best at everything in life!”

“My CP affects me down the right side of my body. It doesn't stop me & I see it as a gift as through football I have made lots of friends! I've had some great opportunities; meeting footballers & being in the England talent pathway”

We are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow at our Annual family day 😀⚽
We have had a bike and a trike donated to us by Luke and Toby who have grown too big for their wheels and would like to gift them to one of their club mates at CP United
