@pbmosligo @anliathluachra 'Durable relationships' & succession rights relate to the Family Amendment. ONE of the reasons the Care Amendment was rejected was for its attempted removal of the reference to women in the home. In my own circle, women from diverse backgrounds all felt strongly about this.
@hanthethinks I find the opening to Billy Elliot great for this. I go from the opening theme as he's jumping on the bed to the moment he finds his granny and speaks for the first time. We learn so much about him and his world as he makes breakfast for his granny, then goes to find her.
@GrainneCullenD@McClenaghanRhys @DamiansNS Brilliant Tara... what a lovely affirmation of all her efforts. Wonder where she got such drive and talent 🤔😉
@GrainneCullenD@network_will@KCorbett10 @ROConnor42 Great piece Gráinne... your support and encouragement as both a colleague and friend have been invaluable to me. I love how honest you are about the challenges of stepping into new roles, and how strong networks are vital in supporting us to grow. Well done you 👏👏
@MaiaDunphy Some of the richest conversations I've had with students are those where we explore language & ideas in writing that would be problematic today. How do kids grow their critical brain if we rewrite everything, including the past, to make it palatable? Who does this even serve? 🤔
@Theholisticpsyc Dublin, Ireland. Working my way through your podcasts and know I'd benefit hugely from the books. Much thanks for your wise, compassionate and common sense approach ☘️❤️
@LisaLouClarkey @ParamilyUK I wouldn't bring judgement into it either way...think it very much depends on the situation. We've both worked hard to reframe our relationship, & we consider ourselves a family still. I get that's not the case for many, and everyone has to do what works best for them ✌️
@gardenngather Oh dear 🫢 When my dad died, a neighbour took my hand outside the church and said, 'Please God your mam will follow him quickly.' Mam had Alzheimer's and she obviously thought it was a kind thing to say. I was horrified. Thankfully mam was with us for another four years.
Well done 2A on the publication of their weird and wonderful story 'The Lobster Plot' 👏👏 There was great creativity and team work in its making, and I've no doubt there will be other published pieces for some of the talented writers in this group @FightingWordsIE@ETSSLibrary
Congratulations 🎊🎉👏to the class of 2A who became published writers ✍️with the submission of their short story, “The Lobster Plot”🦞to @FightingWordsIE. Copies of this book are pride of place in our library for all to enjoy 😊📚 @Sandym0untPark
@tanyashadrick@wnbooks@Waterstones Thank you for your immense generosity and support Tanya. Looking forward to immersing myself in the wonderful contributions to your substack community and getting writing again xx
@tanyashadrick@wnbooks@Waterstones Thrilled for you Tanya, and delighted to see @Waterstones recognising what those of us who read #TheCureForSleep this year already knew! I've no doubt its impact will continue to be felt long after '22 for old and new readers alike 🤗
