RVA26, a group born in jail.
We wanted to share our manifesto with the community to provide clarity and information about the work we do. As a group, we strive to place black liberation first, using creative tactics such as protests, educational material, legal tactics and
From the three creative protests and the weekly Yoga and Racial Healing Circles we hosted Summer of 2020 to the mutual aid and commissary requests we fulfilled for those on the inside of Richmond area jails, we are so grateful to have done this work.
Please read the description at the top of the form for more details.
We are also still looking for volunteers to help us continue to do this work! Shoot us a dm or email if you’re interested in getting involved. More announcements coming shortly!
RVA26 is back! We’ve made some changes to our organization to meet the capacity of our volunteers and ensure the longevity of our operations. We are refocusing our efforts on the original mission that brought our group together: providing support to individuals on the inside.
That being said, we will no longer be operating a community mutual aid form. Individuals who are currently incarcerated (or their loved ones) in need of assistance should reach out to us via the “Contact Us” form in our bio or by email at [email protected].
RVA26 credits this massive resistance to its creation and the impetus of the org's work supporting folks on the inside in Richmond area jails.

Happy Black History Month! We strive to work towards Carter G. Woodson's powerful legacy of celebrating Black people's achievements and work. We want to celebrate and honor the people who rose up, reclaimed, and contextualized the monuments during the 2020 Uprising.
We are asking officials to prioritize protecting tenants amid rising housing costs. Rent relief alone is not enough - we need historic investment that addresses the systemic causes of the housing instability crisis. The link to the full letter is in our bio.
On behalf of the Richmond Mutual Aid Coalition (@nrcfulton, @nolefturnsinc, @RichmondTenants, @song_rva, and @RVA26_), we have written a letter demanding urgent, systemic responses to the eviction crisis in our region.
RVA26 is looking for volunteers in the above areas to help sustain our mutual aid work and support for people incarcerated in RVA. We are also open to volunteers with other skill sets, so if you’re curious about how you can get involved, please reach out!
