I grew up knowing I had to find success within the existing confines of the ‘system’. There are those (Jobs, Musk, Luckey) that are skilled enough to change the system but only after years of struggle.

There is a tendency now that says if the ‘system’ isn’t doing what I want, it must be the system and not me. Both my kids entered adulthood seeing dad at his ‘successful’ stage and thought ‘it can’t be that hard’ but the never knew young me that worked his ass off to get here.

It’s a simple matter of perspective. If I’m willing to be uncomfortable, sacrifice and do difficult things, I can find success within the system.

That appears to be unpalatable for a growing number of people.

Ukraine is attacking Russian refineries… heavy diesel producers… creating a global shortage of diesel and driving prices up… fuel prices are always based on speculation… therefore not always an immediate correlation with fluctuating price per barrel…

I did the standard Army Aviation degree by way of ERAU online… only got it to be competitive for W5… I had all top blocks but knew promo board was full of RLOs that thought I couldn’t read a checklist without a degree.

My English composition class was actually the most beneficial one that I took… it made me a much better writer… otherwise I learned nothing that taught me a needed skill.

BL: it was a key that opened a door to a room that otherwise I wouldn’t have had access to. Most degrees are the same… Im sure that your new employer wouldn’t care if you had an engineering degree vs. early childhood development. They just want to see that you have a key.
