Twenty-six senior officers from the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), Rwanda National Police, Rwanda Correction Service, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are attending the Defence Management Course at the RDF Command and Staff College in Musanze District.

The programme commenced with an online phase from 1–12 July 2026 and continues with the residential phase from 13–23 July 2026.
This is the third course in a new series of strategic-level programmes jointly developed by the RDF Command and Staff College and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).

The course is designed to enhance leadership, strategic planning, resource management, and decision-making skills, equipping participants with the competencies required to effectively manage defence organisations, operations, and resources in both peacetime and operational environments.

Azafasha abayitabiriye kugira ubushobozi bukenewe mu kuyobora neza inzego z’ingabo, ibikorwa byazo n’umutungo, haba mu bihe by’amahoro no mu bindi bihe bidasanzwe.

The Deputy Defence Spokesperson, Lt Col Simon Kabera, today hosted a delegation of 42 young Rwandan students from the diaspora at the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Headquarters in Kimihurura.

The students, from Belgium, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, France, and Nigeria, are visiting Rwanda as part of the Youth Tour 2026.
Their visit to the RDF Headquarters was aimed at enhancing their understanding of the RDF's role in safeguarding Rwanda's sovereignty, maintaining national security, and contributing to the country's socio-economic development.

The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) held its fourteenth send-off ceremony on friday at RDF Headquarters in Kimihurura to honour military personnel who have reached retirement age and those whose service contracts have come to an end.

The event was presided over by the Minister of Defence, Hon. Juvenal Marizamunda, on behalf of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Rwanda and Commander-in-Chief of the Rwanda Defence Force. The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) 507 Infantry Brigade has successfully completed a five-month Advanced Infantry Brigade Training (AIBT) at the Combat Training Centre Gabiro in Gatsibo District.

Today, the Minister of Defence, Honourable Juvenal Marizamunda, received H.E. Dr Sylver Aboubakar MINKO-MI-NSEME, High Commissioner of the Republic of Gabon. Their discussions focused on matters of mutual interests including strengthening the defence cooperation between the two countries.

A delegation led by Brig Gen Louis KANOBAYIRE, RDF Chief of Military Training and Education is in New Delhi, India to participate in the second Meeting of the Rwanda - India Joint Defence Cooperation Committee (JDCC).
The meeting is aimed at further strengthening the bilateral Defence cooperation in areas of mutual interest, building on the Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation signed in 2018 and the outcomes of the inaugural JDCC held in Kigali in 2024.

On the margins of the meeting, he paid a courtesy call on Hon Rajesh Kumar Singh, Defence Secretary of India.
