It was a WILD day at the State House today, with special visitors from the @RWPZoo on hand, along with Zoo Executive Director Stacey Johnson, who shared updates about one of Rhode Island's top attractions.
The animal ambassadors in attendance included a corn snake, skunk (de-scented, thankfully), box turtle, and red-tailed hawk.
The Zoo is home to over 130 species from around the world, and is visited by more than 700,000 people every year.

We are exploring unique companionship options for him. Carsie is adjusting very well to his habitat and building trust and bonds with his keepers. We are very excited he has joined our Zoo family, and can't wait for you all to meet him in the Faces of the Rainforest! ๐
We are thrilled about the warm welcome that our newest resident Carsie the Capybara has received thus far! We have received a lot of questions, and we want to help you get to know him a little better...
While capybaras are social animals, Carsie was unfortunately bullied and injured by his previous group. Because heโs now fearful of other capybaras, heโs currently living solo for his own safety. We are keeping an extra close eye on his well-being.
