@ABsteward Not surprising and those aren’t the reasons. Doctors rarely evolve practice after they complete training. Literature shows this. It takes 15-20 years for practice changing evidence to change practice. Indeed leaders of a field are often most resistant to challenging old ideas.

Infusion Vasopressor:

Indications = Sustained hypotension

Route = IV (central only if >24 hours)

Weight Based Dose = 0-30 mcg/min

Non-Weight Based Dose = 0.01-0.5 mcg/kg/min

Epinephrine is a sympathomimetic agent with a variety of important uses in the acute care setting, so we made a fun infographic board to further educate healthcare workers on the ICU floors!

Push Dose Vasopressor:

Indications = Transient hypotension (SBP <90 or MAP <65)

Route = IV (peripheral or central line)

Dose = 10 mcg every 2-5 minutes as needed
