Wrap-Up of the @PrepGirlsHoops Michigan State Tournament:
When I have time, I like to put together a tournament summary (in some form), especially when I have seen all or most of the teams in the high school divisions. I have included the tournament finishes as well as an all-tournament team, an impressive underclassmen list, and an impressive middle schoolers list (based on my observations).
Program/Team of the Tournament:
Ohio Xtreme/Ohio Xtreme 17U
Ohio Xtreme won both the 17U and 16U titles. Their 17U team won the top division with a talented, well-rounded roster headlined by the top 2 prospects at the event in the versatile, multi-dimensional pair Maddie Lepley (6' G, '26) & Lila Kleve (5'10" G, '26). Their perimeter core had depth in scrappy hustlers Hayden Croyle (5'7" G, '26), Taylor Dye (5'3" PG, '26), Kayla Cellura (5'9" W, '26), and Colbie Curall (5'8" G, '26). Armahni Wagler (5'8" F, '26) was a physical, aggressive force, while Claire VanDamme (6'3" C, '26) gave them a true post presence. [@TaylorDye2026@kaylacellura@colbiecurall01@ArmahniWagler@clairevandamme7 ] While their 17U team had a more challenging route to their title, the 16U team dominated, forcing running time in all 4 games and winning by an average margin of 31.5 pts/game.
Honorable Mention:
MBA
MBA finished 2nd in 17U, 3rd in 16U, and 1st in 15U & 14U.
.
17U Results:

All-Tournament Team (17U division):
1st Team:
MVP--@Maddie_Lepley14 (6' G, '26) of Ohio Xtreme
(pictured, #11) Maddie Lepley was named the unanimous event MVP by the recruiting evaluators in attendance (organized by @CoachEvanBell ). She was smooth handling the ball, used her athleticism to glide to the basket, and elevated for a high release point on her perimeter shot. In addition, she was intense and disruptive defensively & used her athleticism to be active on the boards.
@lila_kleve (5'10" G, '26) of Ohio Xtreme
(pictured, #10) Lila Kleve shifted seemlessly between all 3 perimeter positions, scoring at all 3 levels while facing the basket & also showing the ability to physically dominate opposing guards in the post. While not scoring as much as some of her teammates, she affected the game in every facet by making the right play withe the ball in her hands, playing tough defense, and being aggressive on the boards.
@JaniahM7 (5'10" G, '26) of MBA
(pictured, #7) Janiah Martin is a slashing point-forward. She attacked the basket aggressively, yet under control, and created scoring opportunities for teammates by drawing extra defenders. In addition, she crashed the offensive boards from the perimeter for additional scoring opportunities.
@annika_drolema8 (6' F, '26) of MBA
(pictured, #5) Annika Drolema is a hard-working, blue-collar forward with an inside-outside game. She buried 3s & scored around the basket off the cut, short drive, or offensive rebound.
Sydney Debicki (5'6" G, '26) of B.1.C.E. London
Sydney Debricki is a very good shooter with a quick release whether off the catch or off the dribble. She is a very athletic hustler that played aggressive defensively, used her speed to turn defense into offense quickly, & can also run the team at the point. [B.1.C.E. is from London, Ontario in Canada.]
@ryan_vanderbeek (5'7" W, '26) of GR Outkast
(pictured, #21) Ryan Vanderbeek attacked the basket with frequency and was crafty scoring off the dribble. She earned numerous trips to the FT line and added in some timely 3-pt shooting.
