It’s time to simplify and streamline environmental reviews for transit to make rail expansion easy. We shouldn’t have to worry about people suing to block transit projects over unfounded environmental “concerns”.

@FireWareham @unleashedff295 Honestly, I think the NPS should just allow the train to run along the Cape Cod National Seashore from Wellfleet to North Truro. It would enable more people to enjoy the National Seashore, and it wouldn’t need much (if any) eminent domain.

@FireWareham @unleashedff295 The Cape Cod Rail Trail would likely become a rail-with-trail. The train could the run in the median of Route 6 and alongside transmission lines. Once it hits Wellfleet, it gets tricky. Chunks of the old ROW have homes/roads, so Wellfleet to North Truro would need new ROW.

@TimothyLesinski @_Murphy_Dan Buses are a terrible experience when on vacation and for commuting (you can’t get real work done when being jostled around). Also, vehicle carbon emissions, microplastics, and crashes should be of far more concern than a train briefly traversing what is now protected land.

Yes, Massachusetts and the federal government should absolutely revive the train all the way to Provincetown.

It would be a huge boon for national and international tourism as well as local travel. Much of it can be single-tracked and then double tracked for passing.

@TimothyLesinski @_Murphy_Dan It’s about being able to commute and vacation within the Cape itself. Also, there’s still tons of land (especially land cleared for transmission lines) that can be used where the train is unable to run in the median.
