Breaking news: Harvard faculty votes to cap the number of A's awarded in course grades, a big step in combatting the grade inflation that has been dumbing down our courses, conveying the wrong message to students, and making universities a national laughingstock.
@WestMids_CA@BhamCityCouncil Interesting Developments. What is the purpose of the yellow perimeter, specifically for unshaded areas that are still within the yellow perimeter? (e.g., East of Knowledge Quarter; East & South of Digbeth?)
@Bradford_St_Bhm Thanks for sharing this - following on from my story @WMPolice have responded: "We’re investigating after 4 trees were cut down in Digbeth High Street on Friday.
CCTV footage has been obtained and is currently being reviewed." Any info via Live Chat quote crime ref 20/253045/26.
@AstonPress@AstonUniversity Have these facilities been designed with flexibility for other racket-sports, particularly tennis? Aston has a new Student Tennis Club so it would be amazing to offer tennis facilities, too.
Well do I have news for you!
As a part of the Sprint City Centre project, Corporation St will indeed see the removal of most parking spaces, narrowing of the road, widening of the pavements along with a new zebra crossing. Hopefully new paving too rather than tarmac!
What an absolute waste of a Birmingham icon.
Get rid of the cars
Pedestrianise the street (or buses only)
Restore Central Methodist Hall into Birmingham’s St Pancras Hotel
Fill those closed retail units with small cafes and restaurants
Surely, it is time to enforce serious regulations (speed limits and restricted zones) and penalties on electric "bicycles" (which are basically being used like motorbikes without the same regulations)?
@UKLabour
“Autism has become so diluted, we can’t really tell what we’re talking about anymore" - a seemingly obvious yet important distinction between "profound" and "nonprofound" autism that, oddly, few media reports acknowledge...
After hearing the umpteenth perfectly functioning Harvard student tell me she's "autistic," and also teenagers who shriek uncontrollably, self-mutilate, and never look at another person, I've seen firsthand how the ever-expanding "autism spectrum" diagnosis is worse than useless, particularly with RFKJ and Trump claiming there's an explosion of cases. It also corrupts research by lumping heterogeneous people, foiling the search for a cause. https://t.co/yPQYyuUsPl
Decades of Birmingham Civic Leaders should feel eternal shame that Methodist Central Hall is on @thevicsoc's 2025 Top 10 endangered buildings wall of shame list
You could have also included The Electric, The Crown and many others in Brum on that list.
