Read a story in Never Settle about hiking in and out of the Grand Canyon in a day. Had the chance to go from the north rim to the south rim yesterday. Was amazing!

Drake & his Webb City 4th grade red teammates fought their way to a 3OT win today. 5 made the league ball carrier weight limit by .1 pounds (in his underwear). Then put it to good use in the 4th down by 6 taking the ball away from the opposing QB and racing 70+ yards to the house

Sad that travel baseball season is over? New Makos photos from Ryan Brashears will take the edge off. Win or lose, Drake goes hard all the time. He makes catchers trying to tag him earn it, digs for all he’s worth, and celebrates for/with/sometimes on his teammates like no other.

Drake’s baseball season ended Monday night. Football preseason workouts started Tuesday. I don’t have a sled to push, but I have a mower and really thick grass.

Couldn’t be prouder of Drake and his teammates. They battled hard all the way to a 9u state championship. Congratulations boys!

On to the finals...WC finished off the semis 19-5 in 4. Drake came off the bench, went 2-3 at the plate and struck out 4 in 1 2/3 IP to close it out - after Lake put up 2 1/3 strong innings. Off day on Sunday, playing for the hardware Monday at 6.

Warmed up for 45 minutes, then took 12 minutes to finish off Harrison County 17-7. Paxten closed it out like a boss striking out the side to end it. Between he, Drake and Lake Carterville Elementary was out in force.

Rolling in 7 this weekend. WC 9u All-Stars played until midnight, will return to finish today (don’t ask). Drake and company had a good start last night and is eager to get back after it today. Fair warning, that yellow bat (pictured) is hot, be alert when 7 digs in.

While of less eternal significance Drake had himself a moment this weekend as well - getting up on water skis for the first time. Papa David coached him well. The smile in the last one is the money shot. Great job Drake.
