MALLRATS debuted in theaters 29 years ago today! It was a critically reviled box office failure, but over time, the audience found it on home video and cable and claimed it as their own.
Today, some call it a classic.
Sometimes, the movie never ends -
even after the credits roll.
I have achieved a position in this world where if the week poses challenging I can self-soothe by buying vintage taxidermy. I am becoming the eccentric of my dreams
Not trying to create a pile-on here. But let's talk about why something might still be made in unethical conditions even though it bears a "made in USA" tag. 🧵

Fredric Jameson (1934-2024). Rest in Power. Sad for many reasons not least because he remained unceasingly and generously productive until the end, publishing three books this year alone and, until a recent accident, had been scheduled to teach this term at Duke. He changed how I think about countless topics -- everything from Philip K. Dick to Jaws to Wyndham Lewis to architecture to Sartre to Hegel. And I'm not alone in this.
Watched the first couple episodes of Queen of Villains and it is fantastic so far. The relationship between Dump Matsumoto and Chigusa Nagayo is so well done, can’t wait to see Dump beat up the Crush Gals
