@CoachHurstMHS @BCrow2516 @DoughneyJ I like how you tied-in the student input. Especially since that is the whole purpose of the active learning approach. #EDLE5650
A5: Like the two-arm approach, feedback needs to be meaningful and support the other person’s thinking and reflection. Cannot focus on preserving relationships when productive feedback is needed and many times desired. #EDLE5650
@DoughneyJ It is interesting that people get driven apart from feedback with no meaning, when often they are trying to protect the other person. #EDLE5650
A4: When using two-arm approach to feedback, it’s like a hug; warm, trusting, and inviting. Feedback is perceived as thoughtful, meaningful, and useful for the receiver. #EDLE5650
A2: Even though I have seen the benefits, I still have to remind myself to limit solution listening and remember its more powerful for the other person to find their solutions. #EDLE5650
A1: Limiting solution listening. It is great not to continually focus on how to fix something but instead just listen to what the speaker has to say. Amazingly, a solution usually presents itself during the conversation anyway! #EDLE5650
