@woumaxx@IBSS_XJTLU@XJTLU@PhoenixSherbroo Max when he turns Sherbrooke into a QMJHL powerhouse while getting his Masters in China and dealing with no sleep due to the timezone difference
I would agree usually 100% since this is my general mindset as well…
I give Brackett a bit of a break cause i think it’s been well documented publicly at least in the case of Juolevi and Podkolzin that they were Benning picks and that Brackett had advocated for Boldy over Podz
Stramel I’ve heard from my own guy which I don’t think is publicly circulated but he’s pretty trustworthy which is why I attribute the Stramel pick to Guerin
Chayka’s 1st month as GM:
1) Won the Draft Lottery
2) Fired Berube
3) Hired Brackett
Needs to nail the HC hire but after that… don’t think you could ask for a better start from him even if #1 was all luck
#LeafsForever
Also, I acknowledged that the 1st overall pick was just luck but I’m not sure that Berube being gone was consensus… seemed like lots of insiders were suggesting he could stay
Berube has since gotten some fleeting interest from the Oilers so it’s not like all the teams agree with the public opinion that Berube just can’t coach
All in all my point is
1) I like Brackett
2) lots of GMs don’t fire the coach when they’re brought on (to save themselves a bullet to use if the team underperforms)
And overall the offseason has been off to a good start, they’re doing the right things and going through the right processes
Would be AMAZING if #LeafsForever could get Brackett
I’ve loved a lot of Minnesota’s draft picks over the last 4-5 years (outside of Stramel)
Obvious names were Wallstedt, Yurov, Buium and Ohgren but I’m a fan of guys like Heidt, Kiviharju, Ritchie and Kumpulainen too who haven’t gotten their chance yet
No worries! I’ve personally been a fan but the thing about scouting is that it is very much an art more than a science…
I’ve had guys I love not even get drafted (Osmanis last year for example) so it’s possible non of the guys I like end up panning out, but I do think he’s one of the best talent evaluators in the league.
It’ll be a blessing to have him and Leach at the table come draft time
I mean thats why I mention I do like guys like Heidt, Kiviharju, Ritchie and Kumpulainen as well and Hunter Haight looks like a potential bottom of the lineup/depth guy too
Thing with Brackett is that he’s only run things in Minnesota for 5 years and non first round prospects generally take much longer to get here, so we should just start seeing 1/2 guys starting to scratch the surface in the next year or two
The next 3-4 years will be the ultimate litmus test on his depth drafting, and so that’s why I’m only commenting on whether I LIKE the picks not whether they’re confirmed successes or not
This really sucks…
Hoping Domi is okay as well. Especially if it’s a back injury you’re hoping there’s no long term effects to quality of life.
Just a situation that sucks all around

Not sure he’s a guy who I think becomes a middle six player is kind of my hang up
Feels like the dominant older NCAA guy who gets a ton of rope because “oh man we gotta give him a chance we drafted him R1 and he’s big!” and kind of never really sticks in that Top 9 cause the skating and skill level just doesn’t work at the highest level
Might be an everyday 4th liner with some spot duty in the Top 9. I could be wrong on him but I’ve just never really sold on the player 😅
Eh, was never a fan of the skating and skill level. Looked like a guy who relied being bigger and stronger than his competitors
He’s had a very good year this season, but his early NCAA struggles kind of lead me to think my concerns were valid. Now that he’s an upperclassman and has built up that physical maturity the offense and plays he can make have come back
Should be an NHLer on account of where they drafted him and his physical traits but I don’t think he’ll ever be a real NHL needlemover
We’ll have to agree to disagree on that one
For me he did it multiple times and was looking down the whole time, looked intentional to me
If he was going for the stick he went about it with a stunningly special level of incompetence LOL
If it was once? Maybe. Twice? Yeah you don’t get the benefit of the doubt from me at that point 😭
The worst part if I want to like him so badly as a Rangers fan but I kinda feel like he’s been good in a mainly sheltered role and his breakout kind of coincided with getting played with Woolley after the TDL where he was allowed to kind of roam more and do the niche stuff he’s very good at
@SagueneensLHJMQ@ReporterTubb Respect is a two way street and Tourigny showed 0 respect to Humphreys (who had to leave the game) and the game of hockey when he did that bush league dirty play
Then he somehow had the gall to act like he did nothing wrong while getting escorted out of the box.
@SagueneensLHJMQ@ReporterTubb No one deserves death threats. Period.
Now that we’ve confirmed that and gotten that out of the way can we also agree that players shouldn’t use their skate blades to stomp on ankles of opposing players?
Or is that a bridge too far?
