Anthony Rizzo has announced his retirement after 14 seasons with the Cubs, Yankees and Padres.
Rizzo was a 4-time Gold Glove Award winner (2016, 2018-2020) and won Platinum Glove honors in 2016. He was also a 3-time All-Star (2014-2016) and won a Silver Slugger Award in 2016. In 2017, Rizzo was bestowed with the prestigious Roberto Clemente Award.
And, of course, he was an integral part of the @Cubs 2016 #WorldSeries championship team.
Just another scoreless inning pitched for @Rise24B, who thru a scoreless 9th last night in a 5-0 win for his SB Cubs over the FW Tincaps. Proud of you on your great start to your pro career! You have earned everything! Glad to have been able to be there! Keep dealing bud!
We are excited to add Justin Marcellus as varsity running backs coach! Coach Marcellus is an East Noble grad and played on two sectional championship teams at East Noble, including the 2019 state runner-up team.
Is this Cubs team the best base running team baseball has ever seen? Not just just the swiping of the bags… the double plays that aren’t being turned against us because of how we are running.. the taking of the extra bag on singles and turning them into doubles.. the whole 9 yards. It’s been one of my favorite parts to watch this year with this cubs team. (This claim has zero analytical backing. Straight up an observation from my eyeballs.) Also; season ends today, PCA is your MVP. Get over it.
