Thirteen tenants could become homeless in 30 days if the list of repairs is not completed; Tom needs funds to keep them off the street.
Tom owns a historic multi-unit building that has been in his family for three generations, over 85 years. He has been assisting people who are down on their luck; some come off the street, some come from rehab, and others come from tenants' word of mouth. He gives them a chance in life they never had before to get back on their feet, with no credit check and sometimes no deposit. He has provided cheap rent, transportation for groceries, pharmacy, and doctor visits, and assistance with Social Security.
In October 2024, a tenant's best friend wrote a letter to the local government complaining about what he believed were multiple building code violations. Over the next eight months, the neighbors also began to incessantly complain about the messy yard of a tenant of 17 years, whom Tom eventually had to evict due to pressure from the neighbors and the local government. In May 2026, an inspector from the government came and inspected the house, and gave Tom a laundry list of violations that had never been brought up even a year prior. They condemned six of the thirteen units in the building. Since then, two of the condemnations have been resolved. However, the government says that on paper, the building only has nine units when there are really thirteen. This issue was never brought up in any previous inspection, and the building and its units have not been changed in decades. On Friday, August 14, the inspector from the local government posted a 30-day notice of condemnation on every unit to leave the building. If all the repairs get done before the deadline on September 15, the tenants can all stay. However, Tom doesn't have the money to complete these repairs.
Around mid-June 2026, Tom spent two weeks in the ICU with a heart condition. The doctors couldn't identify the condition, but they put him on medication. Two weeks after that, he had to go back to the ICU for another week. Two weeks after discharge, the inspector showed up completely unannounced and told him he hadn't completed any of the repairs. This is false; he got four of the repairs done from the hospital bed over the phone and showed them proof, but they didn't care. Two days later, they came back unannounced again with the aforementioned notices on each unit. Now Tom has 13 tenants, including himself, who will become homeless unless these repairs get done in the next month.
The funds raised here will be used to cover home repair expenses and potential hotel expenses if the repairs aren't finished in time. Tom and his tenants greatly appreciate all the support they can receive during this difficult period of time.
Donald Trumpโs disastrous tariffs and reckless war of choice have sent the cost of everything from gas to groceries soaring โ but he didnโt stop there.

The Democrat Party currently faces a major identity crisis: They have one side that wants open borders and higher taxes. And they have another side that wants open borders and communism.
