The @Phillies are the second team in MLB history to have a player hit for the cycle (Bryce Harper) and a player hit 3 homers (Kyle Schwarber) in the same game.
The other was the Yankees on June 3, 1932 (Tony Lazzeri cycle, Lou Gehrig 4 homers).
@_jacobschneider Fox has been excellent. I’m usually a critic, but they’ve given diverse perspectives and the studio shows have been great. They’re going to promote the US while they’re alive in the tournament but they’ve been more than fair promoting other games & stars.
@nsemeke33 It would not be difficult. There are 32 NFL stadiums. But many of the larger stadiums are for college football. Those are not being used, except for Austin. There are probably 60 of those that would work well. And then there are a couple dozen soccer specific stadiums in MLS.
@JohnKincade It’s not mainstream enough for local talk radio, but I’ve been listening to SiriusXM FC nonstop this past week, precisely to hear breakdowns of teams like Ivory Coast.
A spine tingling rendition of Flower of Scotland being belted out by The Tartan Army, before their first World Cup Finals game in 28 years.
A moment that many have waited a lifetime for. 🥹🏴❤️
@copyright_92@poddy_8@djspoonie I don’t disagree. Thats one reason I got more into the EPL, because I could watch games early. This evening, most of the country is watching the NBA, not Scotland/Haiti.
@poddy_8@djspoonie Here in the US, we are used to meaningful soccer games being on the air at 7 AM. So prime time, in the evening, is a pleasant change. But yes, it probably sucks for you guys.
