@smcollegehoops@NCAADIII@NCAADII@NAIA Awesome to see both Kyle Steigenga and Dominez Burnett get selected. Lucky to have been able see them both play. One heck of a rivalry between the schools before Davenport moved to NCAA II.
@Johnubacon Is it possible that both of these takes are a stretch? Not every player UM got in the portal was a ‘leftover’. Yaxel was highly sought after and while UM didn’t spend UK money they paid top dollar for him. Very likely the top paid player in college this year.
@BankHoops One of the worst calls l’ve seen was a ref at half court call a travel on a player making a layup. No other player was around him. Wasn’t even close to a travel. Cost the team the state championship.
@TrustTrost Taking away the handshake line after games is only dealing with the symptom of a bigger problem. Open to different options but I don’t think we should allow poor sportsmanship dictating what teams do after games.
@Sheehan_Sports What’s crazy is that there was no intensity on either end. This team is flawed. No defense. And 3 straight games with a horrible 1st half. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are 2 freshman starting by the end of the year. This team is out in the opening weekend.
@gwizzy12 It also doesn’t help when 42 for Purdue is the guy they’re using defensively to switch. If that’s the game you’re going to play it’s needs to be a player like Carson Cooper, who has the athleticism to do so. Killed them down the stretch.
After conversations with sources in and around MSU athletics, here’s a detailed breakdown of Michigan State’s transfer portal standing — and how Spartan Ventures changes the equation this year.

The Lions traded up in the 2024 NFL Draft, surrendering an additional future fourth-round pick to select a hopeful special teams ace in the fourth round.
That decision epitomizes some of the team’s recent draft missteps—burning future picks, thinning draft capital without ever trading down to replenish it, all for highly specialized roles.
Now they’re getting bullied in the trenches, and the offensive line is so compromised they can’t even functionally run the offense and no longer have an identity.
