@NoCorrectIdeas@AndrewStoeten Rogers is the kind of guy who seems to be settled into a groove of just being a one-and-done guy, and I'd hate to tempt fate and mess up something that isn't broken.
He also already has one 1.2 IP appearance this yr so he's likely already hit his quota for >1 IP appearances. 😂
@NoCorrectIdeas@AndrewStoeten Varland can go 2 IP in a pinch, but Rogers definitely cannot be counted on to do the same.
Last year, he led the league with 81 appearances, and only *once* did he throw more than 1 inning, and it was only a 1.1 inning appearance.
He did 1.1 IP three times in 2024.
Kirk has barely played
Barger has barely played
Haven't had a complete healthy rotation all season
Vladdy has 3 HRs
Still a .500 ball club and in a playoff spot
DO NOT let us get healthy
@Jram2TBJ They cut DeJong so quickly, too!
Where's that same energy for Sosa? He's had more than twice the PA that DeJong had.
C'mon Atkins, throw in the towel on Lenyn. We barely gave up anything for him anyway. We gave up a considerably bigger chip for DeJong, and it didn't matter then
@JoshuaHowsam@Oakvillejaysfan Gotcha! I think my confusion was that they specifically announced they moved Berríos to the 60-day to make room on the 40-man for Seabold, but didn't use the same language about moving Kirk to the 60-day for Voth, so I mistakenly thought Voth was somehow already on the 40-man.
@JoshuaHowsam@Oakvillejaysfan For some reason I thought we had a free 40-man spot after moving Kirk to the 60-day.
My math is clearly off.
Strike my earlier speculation from the record haha!
@JoshuaHowsam@Oakvillejaysfan Same! Though I saw someone speculate Sosa might be the one hitting the IL after his HBP, which would still effectively take him off the roster, albeit temporarily.
Though I'd still hate that, because it would mean they somehow STILL aren't ready to completely cut bait on him.
@KeeganMatheson Keegan, my dude!
With the swath of injuries this team has dealt with, this headline was a major jump scare!
I'm gonna need you to find some adjectives that don't invoke thoughts of yet another injury to a Jays player. 😂😂😂
@cideralowekoda@storylinefever@ShiDavidi So you expected him to continue swinging the bat despite not having any feeling in a critical body part associated with a baseball swing? 🙄🤦
Brandon Valenzuela is a stud defensively.
Notice how catchers don't throw to the bag anymore. Each of these throws is right where he wants it, down the line toward 1B so the fielder can catch and apply the tag earlier on the runner. Replay has helped the game learn this is better than throwing to the base.
