You don’t have to have kids to use it. It’s for adults, seniors, and families too.

Sometimes finding help is the hardest part. 211 is a good place to start.

🍎 For the 2026–2027 school year, Michigan public school students can receive FREE breakfast and FREE lunch at school through the Michigan School Meals program.

There is no income requirement for students receiving meals through the program. Michigan isn’t the only state offering universal free school meals several other states have similar programs.

If your child needs other basics, such as shoes, coats, or clothing, call Michigan 2-1-1. They can help connect families with local programs and resources that may provide these items.

California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, and Vermont offer free breakfast and lunch to all students.
