@Curi_Christian I think many tie their politics to their faith. Some mean they are republicans and Christians. Others mean they are biblical and not liberal leaning in their interpretation. Some may mean they are theonomist and Christian.
@jbrtnme@ThoughtfulSaint@MormonDisc Where does he say he believes for sure this was his generation?? From what I’m reading it says generally, those who remain at the time this happens will experience this event.
@Curi_Christian I do big time. I’m technically a Protestant and find myself in the middle to the apostolic traditions & something like Anglicanism or Lutheranism. So, I hate the feeling of being an outsider.
@jbrtnme@ThoughtfulSaint@MormonDisc Again, no matter how you want to spin it, you’re making a false equivalency to justify your religion. You need to find error so you can turn a blind eye from your prophets clear heresy. I know it’s hard to accept but you have been lied to by your prophets.
@jbrtnme@ThoughtfulSaint@MormonDisc Like I said, the fact that you cannot clearly see the difference. Even when it’s explained to you is sad. I personally think the only reason you seem to be struggling with this is to justify your prophets actions.
@jbrtnme@ThoughtfulSaint@MormonDisc You’re so desperate to justify your religion that you are willing to look past what your prophet has done. Then you’re willing to accuse falsely Jonah to be a false prophet. This is so sadly distorted that I don’t know how to help you.
@jbrtnme@ThoughtfulSaint@MormonDisc False equivalency. You are comparing Brigham teaching heresy about God to Jonah preaching the truth but God had compassion and therefore changed His mind on destroying them. Jonah wasn’t wrong, God was just forgiving at their repentance.
@jbrtnme@ThoughtfulSaint@MormonDisc You are basically trying to find a way to excuse your prophets heresy. There are no biblical examples of a prophet doing things like Brigham has done. For good reason too because it’s very clear that if we judged rightly about this we would not trust a word from Brigham.
@jbrtnme@ThoughtfulSaint@MormonDisc Because if you are a prophet and claiming to speak on behalf of God, your words have power. It’s pretty irresponsible to teach a doctrine of Adam god if it’s completely false and opinion only. This is why the FLDS believe this teaching.
@ThoughtfulSaint@MormonDisc I think it’s a major problem that your prophets could teach things so strongly and not be clear that it’s simply their opinion on the matter. I actually think the FLDS are more consistent than the average mainstream LDS, they just take their prophets more seriously.
@roddreher Maybe you don’t have to worry about it, but a list could certainly be made of various beliefs you think one must hold to be apart of the true Church.
@C2Antiquity@paleochristcon I don’t get your comment, I can tell you this Andrew is a nasty person. I don’t understand why any Orthodox person would support him in any way. If he was Protestant, I’d say the same.
