@EwenDCameron Ferguson for me by some distance. Got the job done but I feel 3 points won’t be enough with the poor goal difference we’d have if we lose the other two, so need a point somewhere IMO. Could happen but unlikely!
@StanCollymore Isn’t this potentially a team spirit decision? How many times in the past have we seen England managers try to take all the best players then either shoe-horn them in to positions they don’t normally play, or get wildly criticised for leaving certain players on the bench.
@SPFLWatch Missed a key bit of info - a fourth penalty was taken after the lights went out (BOD) and missed - I don’t know if they were told to take it or asked to. After this it was then abandoned, so four pens were taken (one without floodlights but it was still fairly light).
@ScotlandSky@AnthonyRJoseph I can understand people thinking it would be of the soft variety, but this is a pen all day long. The Motherwell striker looks, moves across and trips him. Dermot lost the plot with what he says, completely wrong way round.
@fut_maverick Don’t get me wrong, I know it’s highly unlikely they won’t continue to not win the league. My point is that’s a more likely way of closing that gap between them two and the rest of the league, compared to the rest of the league catching up - other clubs’ budgets are far too small
@fut_maverick Whereas if C/R kept on failing to win the league, they’ll get worse and worse as years go by, so the gap narrows to the other teams by them getting worse. Near impossible for smaller clubs to reach those two, but somewhat feasible for them two to gradually worsen over years.
@fut_maverick Do you really think it won’t make a difference to C/R? What half decent player would want to go to them for average wages, no CL football and a poorer league when they could probably go to a Brentford etc instead? If C/R keep winning the league it just keeps that gap to them big
@BarryS999@DouglasRob0 Fairly rough figures I’ve provided there but it’s not far off and it’s definitely accurate to say a few hundred. I’ve experienced being full time and various part time hours and I think 4 days is actually the best for life/work balance and pay.
@BarryS999@DouglasRob0 There’d be other deduction differences per month on top of that such as pension contribution, NI, so maybe closer to £350 per month for that fifth day, is that worth it for the hours/stress vs an extra day off? Each to their own.
@fut_maverick Hearts winning the league takes money away from C and R, makes their recruitment more difficult, probably makes them weaker. Anything that makes those two weaker is only a good thing for Scottish football as a whole. Narrows the gap and makes the football more competitive. (2/2)
@fut_maverick Makes no difference in the short term to how likely we’d be to win the league - we’re not winning the league anytime in the near future regardless. Makes us less likely to get 3rd but we should be focussing on making top 6 first then aim for top 3, we’re miles away ATM. (1/2)
@markgoldbridge Annoying for those who want spurs to go down, but Villa’s interests lie in the European semi final - they’ve worked hard in the league and have earned the position they’re in to rest players. West Ham should be focussing on their own results, not expecting others to beat spurs.
@markgoldbridge Bollocks. The rules should be applied the same regardless of the “magnitude” of the game. Players need to take responsibility for their own actions. He delayed the restart of play by picking up the ball it’s a yellow card all day long. Doing that when already booked is on him.
@Seatonraiders@EwenDCameron I think they should have done the hearts vs rangers game and Celtic home to another team in the final games, then at least two of the possible title winners would have a chance to celebrate with their fans. Can’t do both old firm at home for policing reasons probably.
@Richard2Booth@tailso1988 I didn’t think he was good enough either, but there’s a way of maintaining your professionalism. I’d also say that while I don’t think he was very good (too slow), he had a lot more fight and effort to him than a lot of those currently playing!
@Richard2Booth@tailso1988 “He wasn’t going to contribute to us staying up” isn’t the same at all. It’s a cheap shot saying he’s not good enough to help us. Saying we can’t promise him the game time he wants is respectfully saying we can’t guarantee a player minutes, they all need to earn it.
