The US and Iran will sign a peace memorandum on Friday in Geneva, ending three months of war. Will the agreement hold, and how will Israel react?
Al Jazeera’s Mohamed Hassan has the latest.
This won’t end unless tougher penalties for scam compounds, tighter scrutiny of long-term visa holders from high-risk regions, and strict requirements for landlords to register foreign nationals and report suspicious high-density operations are implemented. Our current laws and regulations are ill-equipped to rapidly dismantle large-scale cyber-scam networks.
There is no legal, moral, ethical or even spiritual justification for child ordination. A person that's too young for the vote is too young for the robe.
@sonaljay8 It’s clean mainly because of the CMC-Abans workers who constantly have to clean up after people litter. I recently saw a photo of the Port City wood railings being carved. Also, have you seen our colombo beaches .
Turtle points in #SriLanka are becoming a hotspot for unethical #tourism & wildlife harassment. Locals sell seaweed to tourists to feed these turtles and then they touch them for photo ops @tourismlk@sltda_srilanka#SriLankatourism

The demerit point system is a bit of a headache to keep in mind, but it’s actually brilliant. Sri Lankan roads could really use a system like this to keep things in check. 🚘

One vague statement isn’t enough ‼️
Foreigners with bookings need honest, daily updates – not silence.
Be transparent.
Which roads are open ?
Which sites are affected ? When will the central hills be safe again ?
The diaspora will come anyway.
The 2M+ international tourists won’t if you keep hiding the truth ‼️
Give us live maps, clear advisories, and real-time info.
Sri Lanka deserves better. Tourists deserve honesty.

Where can tourists find official, up-to-date info on which routes are safe and accessible to travel in Sri Lanka???
Why isn’t this available on the @sltda_srilanka or SL tourism website?

if you are able to support ongoing flood relief/humanitarian assistance in Sri Lanka - here's a verified list compiled by @Amaliniii https://t.co/i9Dpx1XCLd
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says initial assessments indicate that more than 15,000 homes have been destroyed, over 200 roads remain impassable, at least 10 bridges have been damaged, and sections of the rail network and national power grid affected due to the impact of Cyclone Ditwah, which triggered some of the most severe flooding Sri Lanka has seen since the early 2000s.
#SL urgently needs an effective National Public Alerting System to provide emergency management orgs, across the country with the capability to rapidly warn the public of unfolding and imminent threats.
We need systems we can depend on!
