@LeilaniDowding @felixprehn no, the post is misleading. Plant breeders rights have been in place since the 70's, & hybrid seed is unreliable to recycle. GMOs are just a new phase in old tech that has deskilled farmers and annihilated heritage seed and crop diversity. Seed certification laws also problematic

@felixprehn but surely plant breeders rights have been in place in the States decades before GMOs and this problem is not just about biotech? Probably since the 70's. And the biology of hybrid seeds makes them unreliable to recycle regardless of patents
