I'm thinking the same, like a parallel of Byleth and 3H. Maybe, since in 3H, it was Byleth's choice of who to follow that decided the fate of Fodlan, here, the character you picksm determines the fate of the world as well as Eshmel's

Multiple ppl have said this but I don't think Eshmel/the "avatars" will work anything like Byleth, Robin, etc. Our ACTUAL protagonists will be the main 4, while Eshmel will be a side character of sorts
